Built on the frame of an uncompleted industrial building, the logistics deposit, located in Reggio Emilia on the A1 motorway, is a perfect example of ecologically sustainable requalification. The building is fitted with an NFPA-regulation sprinkler system, a LED lighting system, BMS, heat-pump air-conditioning system and charging points for electric vehicles. The energy produced by the photovoltaic panels fitted on the warehouse roof provide a significant portion of the energy for the distribution centre.
Particular attention was paid to the building’s architecture, thanks to collaboration with an expert team of top-level architects, who have created an exterior that is both attractive and of significant visual impact. Particular focus has been also placed on external areas, which were planned and constructed to perfectly integrate with the building through the creation of an area of forest, the planting of trees and shrubs of varying type and the focusing of particular attention on the protection of important native species. Planning was carried out with BIM technology, and the building has been constructed with a focus on sustainability principles, obtaining BREEAM certification at the EXCELLENT level.
